Quality System
The Management System for the
Quality is oriented to the Quality Control extended to all
company (Total Quality) and the guide lines and the aims on
which develops its activities are:
• Develop and offer of products which completely satisfy
customers'; requirements in order to maintain market leadership
in quality;
• Study of new technologies able to increase competitiveness;
• Relationship with the customers based on transparency
and fairness in order to foster cooperation and partnership;
• Comakership relationships with
suppliers in order to enhance their performance of efficiency
and effectiveness according to our purchasing policy;
• Development and fostering people's professional competencies
through a valid and aimed human resources training plan;
• Use of materials, processes and project conceptions
which imply, during the entire product life cycle, respect
for the environment and human health ;
• Sharing of know-how and technical-organizational competencies
while developing new productive sites;
• Continuous product and process improvement, in order
to reach high levels of safety and reliability and to grant
quality standards and competitive cost together;
• Participative and empowered behavior in all the company
roles and functions in support of the continuous improvement
activities implemented through working teams held by TPM®
(Total Productive Maintenance) and TQM® (Total Quality
Management).

Quality personalization
The whole range of products complies with EN 60335.1 standards
and conforms to the essential requisites for Low Voltage Directives
and the actual legislation concerning electrical material
safety.
On Customers’ request, products are UL or VDE approved,
or in any case they have other product marks consistent with
customer’s specific requests. Special products that
are used in explosive areas can be approved according to explosion-proof
specifications by CESI.
Flexible heaters in polyimide for the space-military applications
are ESA approved, since 1992. This homologation, re-qualified
every 2 years to comply with the existing standards, is recorded
in the ESA-EPPL with the approval certificate No. 184E.
The product approvals are carried
out in the laboratories of each division by the Quality staff
in co-operation with the engineers of the Certification Authority.
The laboratories where tests are made are qualified in accordance
with the applicable standards and normative.
For the execution of chemical analysis, tests over raw materials
(steel, oxide), corrosion and mechanical tests, and for electromagnetic
compatibility tests according to current standards, ZI Heating
Elements Technologies is supported by external Bodies.
All the production is 100% tested and, on customer request,
additional tests can be effected by the Quality Control department,
with relative issue of quality and conformity Certificate.
In order to promote the partnership with the customers, products
are developed in co-design with the customer and during the
sampling phase, they carry out tests not only on the component
but also on the final equipment-component assembly.

Customer satisfaction monitoring
To assess and improve constantly
the services provided to our customers establishing an atmosphere
of real co-operation, the Quality and Marketing functions
of ZI Heating Elements Technologies constantly monitors cross-functional
performances relating to the following parameters: state of
supplies and products, reaction and professional conduct of
sales personnel, relationship with and feed-back from the
design department, punctuality of delivery and the reliability
and competence of the carrier.
Environment
ZI Heating Elements Technologies has introduced a program
of implementation of the Environmental Management System in
order to reduce the impact of the company's activities on
the environment.
The principles of this project are:
• Reduction of environmental polluting emissions in air,
water and ground;
• Natural resources use containment;
• More use of recyclable and recycled materials;
• Commencement a differentiated waste collection in order
to re-use the refuse;
• Optimization of the productive processes in order to
reduce scrap;
• Educate and make human resources sensitive towards
respect for environment both inside and outside the company.
Acting scrupulously to follow the above mentioned principles,
it was possible to obtain certification in accordance with
UNI EN ISO 14001 standard in June 2003.
