CAST IRON HOTPLATES
Electric cast iron hotplates mainly consist of a strong, lightweight and closed cast iron body, with three concentric channels inside. These form a circle, with embedded electric heating elements coated with fire-proof material. According to the control system used, the three heating elements enable the user to achieve a wide range of operating characteristics. The internal part is protected by a cover complete with a junction box for electrical connections. On the outside, the plates have a stainless steel ring, that is used for a correct fitting and proper levelling of the plates in their housing. The heating surface has been treated with a special high-temperature material. Zoppas Industries plates comply with electric safety regulations and have received VDE approval.
RADIANT HEATING ELEMENTS FOR GLASS CERAMIC HOBS
Glass ceramic cooking hobs require radiant heating elements. The principle of radiant operation is based on the use of coiled heating wires mounted on an insulated support fitted into a metal pan. The assembly is installed below the glass ceramic cook top. The heating wires have an average operating temperature of approximately 1000°C. A thermostat prevents the temperature of the glass hob from exceeding 600°C. The heating wires and the insulating support have been designed not to stop the infrared radiations upwards, but reducing as much as possible side leakage and ensuring high global efficiency.Recent technological innovations have led to the partial replacement of heating wires with halogen lamps mainly with an infrared energy spectrum. These heating elements enable the appliance to reach the operating temperatures on the cooking hob within very short times. Taking in high consideration also the esthetical appeal, special care is devoted to the finishing of the different models during the final production stages.
